I've been away for a while, haven't had the time to let you know what I've been doing, I'm looking for a secretary... there, the electric album is almost finished, will be published by Aquarius Records, the single „I won't sing jazz any more“ is already around, the CD should be released by the end of February, and the concert preview will be held at INK (Istarsko narodno kazaliste) Pula, on February 21 at 20 hours. Our motto: lets plug in and play some Istrian funk... followed by concerts in other cities... but more about it some other time... ciao!

This singer has broadened her horizons onto multimedia and together with Matija Debeljuh, director and video artist, she promoted the first multimedia DVD dedicated to Istro-Roman dialect with the multimedia play PANtheatron on January 21 at INK Theater. This DVD is a part of the years-long project of revitalization of Istrian dialectal and musical tradition, PANPHONIA ISTRIANA, Istrian polyphony. The project will produce one multimedia DVD every two years, dedicated to one of the many Istrian dialects of Slavic and Roman origin. The leading idea is: dialect is the language of emotion, emotion is the language of the soul, soul is the language of a culture. Soon, you can visit the website www.panphonia.com where you will see a great deal of the material presented on the DVD.

Except the electric version, your favorite singer is preparing a new acoustic surprise... it is the cooperation of Transhistria Ensemble with the Czech string quartet EPOQUE. The new material is ready and it includes jazz, Mediterranean ethno and classical music. Istrian preview of the project will be held on February 14 at INK Theatre in Pula and on February 15 in Rovinj, and the Croatian preview will be held on May 13 within Jazz Cycle at Lisinski Hall in Zagreb, when we'll most probably record the live DVD as well. See you...

Your favorite singer has gone electric and already performed at several concerts (at Novigrad Music Nights Festival and at the opening of Motovun Film Festival for example) and released the single with the song „I won't sing jazz any more“... believe me, there was some serious Istrian funk and some real dancing... CD will be out by the end of 2008...

Hoooray, THE SINGING LADY HAS WON THE GOLDEN ARENA AWARD FOR MUSIC FROM THE MOVIE “WHAT IS A MAN WITHOUT MOUSTACHE", HE, HE, HE…nothing can stop us now… victory 1:0, at home. :)

14.07.2006

My dear fellows, the singing lady has "worked off" two new festivals this summer:

NOVIGRAD CITTANOVA MUSIC NIGHTS July 14th and 15th, and first ROVINJ WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL July 21st and 22nd. There was a lot of good music there, and two very different festivals… From glorious Los Van Van and Angela Brown in Novigrad to excellent Tera Folk and Mazde Carpate in Rovinj. I did succeed to take a swim few times and sun bath a bit, but now, it's time to get to work again and again…Transhistria has also had few concerts in the country and abroad. At the end of August and beginning of September, there will be few concerts in Croatia, and afterwards in Germany again…(see under concerts section)

31.05.2006

With two new concerts, on 29th of May in Eisenstadt and 30th of May in Vienna, Transhistria promoted another new CD.

As was already mentioned, we worked on the project in Eisenstadt, or as we say Zelezni, in Austria, treating some folk songs from Gradišće, interpreting them in artistic way (this lady made the arrangements and composed 2 new songs with text from Viliam Pokorni, Slovak from Gradišće.) Original versions of these songs were chosen and recorded by Gegi Kustrić, actor and musician, Croat from Gradišće. The language and dialect are fantastic, archaic, saved in its original shape. We produced the CD in ORF studio (Austrian national television); on excellent equipment with even better tone master Karlo.

Tamara's cultural potential was recognised by the artistic management of the most eminent American jazz clubs: Joe’s Pub in New York hosts artists such as Elvis Costello, David Byrne, Bebel Gilbert, Alicia Keys and David Grey, and Hot House in Chicago is unavoidable intersection of the World's movements in domain of the World music.
Apart from music from the album All fades away…and the new soundtrack It's Faraway…, Tamara presented, for the first time, compositions made in cooperation with The Istro-Romanian Language Documentation Project, linguistic project created in New York with an aim of preservation of Žejan language, the language that has been used in Istro-Romanian enclave in Istria for centuries.
