The repertory of this nine-member-ensemble consists of the new compositions by Tamara Obrovac, written purposefully for Transhistria Ensemble, in which Tamara broadens her artistic expression with the sound of the string quartet, experimenting with the border areas of jazz, classical music and different ethnic traditions of the Mediterranean.
The material has been recorded and the CD is expected to be released by the end of 2009 or the beginning of 2010.
With this cooperation, Tamara Obrovac managed to merge different music forms and approaches into a compact product. Her steady collaborators, the excellent accordion player and an impressive singer Fausto Beccalosi, the sensitive mandolin and guitar player Uroš Rakovec, the reliable bass player Žiga Golob and the vehement drummer Krunoslav Levačić fit excellently into the extremely noble and unpretentious sound of the Czech string players.
