Tamara Obrovac, one of Croatia’s most distinctive and original musicians, presents the new album of her Transhistria Ensemble, Misečina bila, released by Cantus – the Croatian Composers’ Society on 18 March 2026.
The album will be premiered in concert at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, in a performance recorded by Croatian Radiotelevision.
The following day, on 19 March, the audience in Trieste will have the opportunity to hear the new repertoire live, after which the concert promotion of the album will continue.
Faithful to her unique artistic vision, Tamara blends jazz with the musical spirit and dialectal heritage of Istria, creating a distinctive sound world that transcends genre boundaries. Her expressive voice intertwines with the inspired performances of her long‑time collaborators, forming a musical dialogue marked by spontaneity, strong communication and inventive improvisation.
The album features ten new compositions and an arrangement of a traditional Croatian song from Gradišće (Burgenland Austria).
Recorded live in near-concert conditions, the album captures the natural interplay and musical chemistry that have defined this outstanding ensemble, performing in the same line-up for more than twenty years.
